The local foodie dream team will come together for a menu that nods to sun-drenched, long-table dining, reminiscent of a lush coastal escape. Think vibrant seasonal canapés enriched with EVOO, paired with crafted cocktails that enhance Papa Salt’s Australian native botanical notes.
Steeped in founder Yianna Velos’ Greek tradition and heritage, Golden Groves olive oil is sourced from Koroneiki olives grown in sun-drenched groves overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. An early harvest in Greece ensures faultless purity, exceptional nutrition and a lusciously peppery flavour.
A shot of Golden Groves’ high-phenolic olive oil — served with a squeeze of lemon — is a welcome sensory ritual, lauded for supporting immunity, skin vitality and optimal gut health.
Papa Salt Gin is a fresh coastal celebration of Australian native botanicals, featuring roasted wattleseed, waxflower, hibiscus and citrus peel, perfect for languorous summer days and long warm nights. Subtle and zesty, Papa Salt Gin imbues each tipple with a signature coastal minerality.
The evening follows a rich collaborative menu; soft grilled peaches with pickled figs and stracciatella accompany a Melon Martini, infused with Golden Groves EVOO for a vibrant finish.
Smoky chargrilled octopus with housemade hummus and pickled white watermelon is matched with a Strawberry Gin Smash, while Cape Grim beef tataki with ponzu gel meets a crisp Lemon Sgroppino— a refreshing sorbet topped with Second Life Prosecco and a hint of mint.
Discerning foodies and gin connoisseurs can indulge in the coupling of these elevated local favourites at The Upstairs Pour, held at 1 Hotel Melbourne’s Upstairs Bar on Wednesday 29 April.
