A Journey to Redefining Women’s Wellness with POSEE Founder Harriet Harris

Written by Harriet Harris, Founder POSEE

There is a quiet revolution happening in the world of women’s wellness – one that prioritises knowledge, empowerment, and a deep reconnection with self. This is the new era of wellness – intimate wellness – and it is led by me, Harriet Harris, the founder of POSEE.

For me, POSEE is more than just a brand; it is my purpose, my mission, and my love letter to women everywhere. It has never been just about creating products; it has been about rewriting the script on intimate well-being.

It all began with my sister, who struggled with female health issues and found that medical recommendations often overlooked the harmful ingredients in mainstream products. With my background in the microbiome and integrative nutrition, I started researching and uncovering a glaring gap in the industry – one where women’s health concerns were too often dismissed, and solutions frequently caused more harm than good.

I wanted women to finally feel seen and heard. To know that their internal and external well-being truly matters and that there are solutions designed with them in mind – solutions designed by women, for women.

A Deeply Personal Journey

My own experience with endometriosis and the societal hush around menstrual and hormonal health shaped the foundation of POSEE. I grew up disconnected from my cycle, unable to openly discuss something as natural as a period. This silence, ingrained in so many women from a young age, is what I seek to dismantle.

I want my daughters to grow up understanding their bodies and embracing their cycles rather than fearing them. Our well-being is not simply an afterthought – it’s everything.

But the journey to POSEE wasn’t without its challenges. Finding the right manufacturer took years, and along the way, I faced moments of doubt. One of the most profound roadblocks came after an experience that unrooted me from myself. I realised I couldn’t build a brand authentically focused on intimate wellness and self-connection while shutting myself off from my own healing. Reclaiming my power became part of the process. POSEE, in many ways, became my own journey back to self.

The Why Behind POSEE

POSEE stands for more than just wellness – it represents a shift. A new era where women’s health isn’t a secondary concern but a priority.

The mainstream market has long perpetuated harmful practices – using endocrine-disrupting chemicals in products while marketing them as essentials. Women have been told they need certain products, while those very products exacerbate their health issues. POSEE disrupts that cycle by offering solutions rooted in science, nature, and integrity.

This is where POSEE’s unique edge lies. We work with microbiome experts to develop formulations that are not only natural but also scientifically backed. Each ingredient has a purpose, ensuring that products nourish rather than deplete.

I want to challenge traditional narratives by bringing intimate well-being into open conversation. We talk about skincare and beauty without hesitation, but topics like vaginal dryness, menopause, or hormonal imbalances are still whispered about. Why? These are integral aspects of health, and we need to normalise discussing them. Menstruation is, in fact, considered a woman’s fifth vital sign, yet it is so often seen as taboo.

Changing the Industry One Conversation at a Time

POSEE isn’t just about products – it’s about education and choice. I believe knowledge is the foundation of true wellness. When you have knowledge, you can make informed choices. We need to start becoming advocates for our own bodies, trusting the internal knowledge passed down through generations of women. Advice and recommendations exist, but at the end of the day, it’s your choice – everyone has a choice.

This philosophy extends to how we develop our offerings. Rather than dictating what women need, we listen. Our first product – a limited-edition Organic Intimacy Oil – was designed as a universal oil to support all phases of womanhood while sparking conversation about an often-overlooked aspect of self-care. Future releases are being shaped by the feedback we receive from our community, ensuring that every product we create is a reflection of real needs, real voices, and real solutions.

Looking Ahead to a Legacy of Empowerment

My vision for POSEE extends far beyond products on shelves. In five years, I hope to have helped over a million women find comfort, solutions, and a renewed relationship with their bodies. I envision POSEE in mainstream stores like Mecca, Sephora, and David Jones – not just as a milestone for our brand, but as a sign that intimate well-being has finally been normalised, embraced, and prioritised in the same way skincare has been.

I want to change the industry. I want to see better regulation of products, ensuring harmful ingredients aren’t allowed in formulations marketed to women. I want a new norm where our well-being isn’t compromised for profit, and no one feels shame discussing what is inherently natural.

POSEE is more than a brand – it’s a movement. A call for women to reclaim their health, their choices, and their voices. Through science, nature, and unwavering purpose, I am leading the way – one conversation, one product, and one empowered woman at a time.

I would love for you to be part of this journey. Join the conversation and stay connected with us on Instagram @posee.femme and our website posee.com.au for the latest updates, insights, and community discussions.
